A groundbreaking alliance between Jungle Experiences and Amazon Forever brings together forest restoration, early childhood education, and cultural heritage in the heart of the Amazon.
Amazon, 2025 — In parts of the Amazon rainforest, dense green canopies still stretch as far as the eye can see. Yet, many ancestral trees that once defined this ecosystem—mahogany, rosewood, lupuna, and shihuahuaco—have vanished from large regions due to decades of selective logging. This loss not only threatens biodiversity but also the livelihoods and cultural identity of Amazonian communities.
In response to this growing crisis, Jungle Experiences, in partnership with the conservation organization Amazon Forever, has launched “Ancestral Seeds”, a long-term initiative designed to bring endangered native species back to life—starting with the hands of children.
This visionary project blends ecological restoration, environmental education, and cultural revalorization, creating a model that places local communities, especially children, at the heart of conservation. By the end of 2025, the first phase will involve over 700 children and 16 rural schools across the Amazon in planting and caring for endangered tree species.

Unlike traditional reforestation projects, Ancestral Seeds is built on the belief that restoring nature begins with nurturing people. The initiative stands on three pillars that weave together education, ecology, and culture:

Since January 2025, Jungle Experiences and Amazon Forever have been working on-the-ground in the Peruvian Amazon, introducing the Ancestral Seeds project to local communities and coordinating closely with their leaders.
16 schools have already expressed interest in participating.
Local teams have begun planting tree species identified as high-value by the communities, including the Renaco, a sacred tree believed to be a spiritual guardian in many Amazonian traditions.
32 teachers are currently being trained in the Huayo Method, empowering them to integrate environmental education into the school curriculum in a meaningful, sustainable way.
The mission of Ancestral Seeds goes far beyond planting trees. It aims to restore the Amazon by restoring the bond between its people and their land.
“This project isn’t just about reforestation. It’s about planting knowledge, planting connection, and cultivating the next generation of environmental stewards,” says Claudia Rodríguez, CEO of Jungle Experiences. “When children grow up feeling rooted in their environment, they naturally become its guardians.”
As the project progresses, more communities are expected to join the movement, contributing to the revival of the Amazon’s ancestral forests—one seed at a time.
