At Jungle Experiences, we reaffirm our deep connection to the territory that shaped us by launching Semillas Ancestrales: Education and Conservation, in collaboration with Amazon Forever and with the support of the Regional Education Office of Loreto (GREL). This initiative has a clear purpose:
to connect Amazonian children with the wisdom of the forest and inspire them to protect it— starting from the classroom.
The program focuses on raising awareness among children in Loreto about the value of emblematic tree species such as lupuna, shihuahuaco, and rosewood, all currently under threat. Through the Huayo Method—a playful and contextualized pedagogical approach—students explore the forest through stories, songs, theater, and outdoor games that nurture their emotional bond with nature.

At Jungle Experiences, we believe teachers are essential to meaningful transformation. That’s why we began the program with immersive training sessions on May 26 and 27, welcoming 32 teachers from rural and peri-urban schools—many of them bilingual in Spanish and Kukama.
Held at the DoubleTree Hotel and in the Huayo Forest, the sessions included oral storytelling techniques, participatory activities, and hands-on learning in nature. Each teacher received a full pedagogical kit to help bring the method into their classrooms in a creative, relevant, and sustainable way.

The training began with naturalist Hulber Paredes—Jungle Experiences collaborator and Loreto native—who shared his personal journey and how environmental education shaped his childhood, reinforcing the company’s commitment to future generations.
The second day unfolded entirely in the forest, where teachers participated in storytelling, games, and visits to educational modules like the paiche aquarium and the ethnobotanical trail. In the words of Professor Betty Túnjar, with 15 years of experience:
“I’ve never taken part in such a meaningful training. This approach connects emotion with knowledge—and that transforms teaching.”

Since the beginning, Jungle Experiences has believed that true luxury in the Amazon lies in creating local value. This vision—led by our CEO, Claudia Rodríguez—has shaped our operation from the design of routes to the creation of long-term educational and environmental projects.
Semillas Ancestrales joins other emblematic initiatives such as participatory reforestation and the release of baby taricayas, reinforcing our ongoing, genuine commitment to the region and its communities.
Today, 32 Amazonian teachers have planted the first generation of this dream. And like the trees now growing alongside their students in the Semillas Ancestrales Forests, this project will grow with strong roots—nurturing knowledge, identity, and hope.
