At Jungle Experiences, our commitment to preserving wildlife in the Peruvian Amazon is a fundamental pillar of our mission. One of the most significant projects we participate in is the Taricaya Turtle Project in the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve. Due to the illegal hunting of their eggs and natural predators, these small turtles have become a vulnerable species. Our dedication to wildlife conservation not only protects the environments we navigate but also creates a positive impact on the Amazon ecosystem.
Since 2012, we have worked consistently and closely with naturalists from the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve to increase the population of Taricaya turtles. In 2023, we successfully released around 3,000 hatchlings into their natural habitats in the Amazon. This incredible effort would not be possible without the cooperation and expertise of the reserve team.

At Jungle Experiences, we believe that every traveler can make a difference. Under the guidance of our dedicated crew, our passengers have the unique opportunity to directly participate in this vital wildlife conservation project. Passengers who travel through the Amazon between September and November can be part of an unforgettable moment by releasing the small turtles into the wild.
This special project not only contributes to the preservation of an endangered species but also:
